сайн байна уу!! юу байна манайхан!! this week was TOTALLY different from all the other weeks here. but it was SO. MUCH. FUN. so remember how in order for me to get a visa to Mongolia I need to become a certified English teacher so I can teach there?? yep you got it! English Week. word.
basically what happened is each morning we would get picked up from the mtc, and shuttled over to the elc building at byu. we would typically start off observing classes, and then we got to teach! Sister Udy and I got to teach "telling time" and "vacations (but actually by vacations i mean conjunctions you got fooled)" and it was a blast. we taught people from all over the world! and let me tell ya. you would never realize how intense a game of Simon Says can be until you are playing it with a bunch of college students who've only been in America for two months. it was seriously so much fun and so intense.
we also got to film some videos for the ACE: American Conversational English facebook page so go give it a like and a follow because our videos will be posted soonish probably and you get to see me first hand eating chicken nuggets and also a spoonful of mustard...or something like that.
other hype things from this week:
1. since our schedule was all switched we got to go to the gym at night and there was NO ONE there. so basically we had a workout while watching safety zone videos party... wow i am one of them now. iykyk
2. we sat with some Mongolians at lunch and in the Mongolian language the v/w are the same letter so yes they did call it a "wegetable" while talking in English
3. making paper rockets with the dissy um none of the rockets I helped make went far but oh boy did we have fun
4. we learned how to text like Mongolians (using phonetics) so the group chat popped off with some sain baina uu manaikhan's and bi chamd sain. it looks like a whole different language. sanaa zovoltgui zugeep (санаа зоволтгүй зүгээр)
spiritual thought!!
when you have questions or doubts with anything, take them straight to God. when you ask with real intent and when you are willing to act on the answer, you WILL get an answer! It may take time, but you have to trust in God's timing. so basically what I am saying is this. don't give up on finding an answer. keep asking. and ask to be able to recognize the answer when it comes! a humble and willing heart is all it takes!
I love you all and OH ALSO!!! Next time you hear from me I'll be in MONGOLIA??? so hairtai shuu and hampti doo and all that jazz.
