the family search scheme😈🤫

Hi hey hi guys hi hello howdy how are ya. This week went by quick and nothing too crazy happened probably maybe (I think?)

Highlights:

- we decided to call members and sing them hymns on the phone It was so precious because a bunch of the old ladies starting singing along with usSo so cute. My favorite part was when my lovely odgerel egch asked what song we were singing and if it was happy birthday?? Turns out we called her on her birthday and got to sing to her!! Tell me that's not the sweetest tender mercy ever

- since we knew odgerel had just celebrated her birthday, we decided to throw her a little party! We brought cake, candles, balloons, and a birthday hat and we danced and sang to mongolian songs (one of which kept repeating for approximately 8 minutes and now lives rent free in my head) and we taught her uno 

- in one of our English lessons we talked about Onomatopoeias and comics, and then had each of the students make their own comic. We ended up going home with a very creativity written love story drawn up by a little boy

- got a mirror in the bathroom finally

-psa: don't leave unattended hot chocolate in the microwave because i tried to make hot chocolate in the microwave and it exploded everywhere so then I collapsed on the floor like a Muppet. 

Hot chocolate: 1 jaiden: 0 

- we did book of mormon painting for mutual and had a great turn out (of kids and missionaries - I think only 3 actually youth were there) it was actually so much fun you guys 10/10 would def recommend 

- last night for English we talked about families and family trees and FAMILY HISTORY. then all of the sudden as we were teaching words like lineage, genealogy, and ancestors, I was like HEYYYY my grandparents are super into all of this family history works, do you guys wanna see something cool?? So I whipped out my family tree app and showed them. Then we wrote the app name and website link on the whiteboard HEHEyou guys this felt so illegal but actually it's not true story!! 

Spiritual thought: 

2 Corinthians 1: 3 "Blessed be God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies, and the God of all comfort; 4 Who comforteth us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort them which are in any trouble, by the comfort wherewith we ourselves are comforted of God."

This has been my fav scripture all week!! I love it because it is such a good reminder that we all have trials and hardships, but God is there to comfort us in our trials, and when we accept his comfort, we will learn and grow, and overcome all of our afflictions.  And then guess what. Through the experiences of our trials, we can help others through their trials! God gives us comfort and through that comfort we should turn outward to comfort others  Jesus experienced everything that we have ever felt and everything we will ever feel so that he can know how to help us, so when we use our experiences to help others, we get to feel the teeny tiniest bit of what Jesus felt, and that will help us to become more like him
